WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio -- Already the postseason is at hand for John Carroll Women's Golf.

On the first day of the 2022 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship, the Blue Streaks performed well.

The Blue Streaks stand in sixth place out of nine teams after day one of three at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio.

Colleen Vredenburg led John Carroll's efforts on the opening day. The freshman tied the team low on the front nine with a nice 46 with a trio of pars. She heated up later in the day, tallying par on four holes, including on the last two holes. The Baldwinsville, New York native finished with an 89, tying for 15th.

Isabella Mineo enjoyed a good start. The freshman notched a birdie on the opening hole, an omen of good things to come. The Kent native slowed down a bit over the course of the front nine, but came alive later in the back nine with a 43. Overall for the day, Mineo shot a total of 90 overall. She tied for 19th.

Jen Crowley finished closely behind Mineo. Crowley played even-keeled all day, with a consistent round all the way through. The freshman finished the afternoon with a 91, hitting par six times for JCU.

Anna Schramko was JCU's final scorer. The sophomore scored a 107 for the day, highlighted by a trio of par holes in the front nine. Becca Abbott rounded things out with a 109 for the afternoon. Amanda Pancake is unfortunately missing the weekend for JCU, but the team is excited for her to return to the course in the fall.

John Carroll will be back at River Greens on Saturday for Day 2 of competition.
