The Blue Streaks have a busy weekend, perhaps no team moreso than JCU Swimming & Diving.
After a week of pivotal Ohio Athletic Conference victories for both the Men and Women's basketball teams and a new one-mile school record for Erica Esper, morale and spirit are high for John Carroll Athletics heading into the weekend.

The Blue Streaks are headed in a variety of directions for an assortment of competitions this coming weekend.

Here's the breakdown:

Swimming and Diving
Both the men's and women's squads have a packed weekend ahead.

On Friday, John Carroll Swimming and Diving heads to Berea for an OAC matchup against Baldwin Wallace at 6 pm.

On Saturday, both teams will feel the familiar sensation of Johnson Natatorium, as Swimming and Diving is set to host Wilmington at 1 pm.

Last weekend, the diving teams hosted Case Western Reserve and Kenyon, but no team scores were recorded.

Two weeks ago, John Carroll hosted Canisius College, which resulted in a historic 120.5-106.5 victory on the men's side and a tight loss on the women's side.

Daniel Argalious, Bryce Liddell, Michael Heller, and Owen Holm solidified the win with a first place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay. On the women's side, Anna Glass and Gwyneth Hamilton were accredited with successful performances.

Both JCU teams are ready to continue competition, and especially excited for Senior Day festivities before Saturday's home meet.

Women's Basketball
On Saturday, John Carroll Women's Basketball hosts Capital at 2 pm with the goal of tallying another OAC win.

The game will be Kids' Night, welcoming kids to watch an up-and-coming team under Beth Andrews '15. Rascal House will be sponsoring the event.

The last time the Blue Streaks saw Capital, John Carroll lost by a score of 74-48. Although a seemingly sizable defeat, John Carroll is coming off an impressive 65-60 win over rival Mount Union on the road.

The recent victory could give the Blue Streaks a momentous push, hopefully redirecting them toward potential triumph.

In the last game against Mount Union, Kaelyn Underwood made her presence known by scoring 20 points, a catalyst performance that she hopes to repeat on Saturday.

Men's Basketball
On Friday, John Carroll Men's Basketball leaves their home court and will head to Columbus, OH for a 7 pm tip-off against Capital.

In their last showdown against Capital, the Blue Streaks earned a 77-59 victory at home. Eric Hanna led the way in terms of team scoring, coming off the bench and netting an impressive 18 points.

John Carroll looks to continue their dominant trajectory in the OAC, following a crucial OAC triumph over Mount Union this past Wednesday. The #3 D3hoops.com Purple Raiders fell to the #8 Blue Streaks, who secured a narrow 74-72 win to leap to the top of the conference standings.

Luke Frazier led the way with 22 points in front of a significant crowd at Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center.

Wrestling
John Carroll Wrestling gears up for a road trip to Wheaton, Illinois for Pete Wilson Invitational. The weekend-long event begins on Friday and will continue through Saturday.

The Blue Streaks are eager to compete, as the squad comes off a difficult OAC Quad tournament that featured Muskingum, Baldwin Wallace and Ohio Northern.

John Carroll earned a 47-9 victory over Muskingum, but the talent spread among Baldwin Wallace and Ohio Northern led to consecutive match losses for John Carroll.

Andrew Perelka was the sole John Carroll wrestler to earn three victories for the tournament.

With the future in view, the Blue Streaks are eager to rebound and turn frustration into fuel.

Track and Field
John Carroll Track and Field will be distributed among multiple locations starting on Friday.

Alex Phillip will head to Boston University for the John Thomas Terrier Classic Jan 27. The National Championship will compete in the 3k race.

Also on Friday, JCU will send a small contingent to Youngstown State.

On Saturday, John Carroll's throwers will take a quick trip to Balwdin Wallace for the Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge.

The remainder of the squad will travel to Wittenberg University, also hosting a Saturday meet.

Last weekend, the Blue Streaks showcased both endurance and strength at SPIRE Institute, as many John Carroll athletes fared well in terms of final placings.

Erica Esper earned first-place in the mile race on Saturday. Better yet, the senior set a new school record for the mile race (5:02.92), just one day before her commendable finish at SPIRE. On the men's side, Garrett Clark set a school record in the 400m dash, as did the 4x400 relay.

Tennis
The weather is still frigid, but the spring season is officially underway on Saturday.

John Carroll Men's Tennis will head to Denison to face the Big Red on Saturday to kick off the spring portion of the schedule.

Meanwhile, JCU Women's Tennis will also make the trip, though only as a scrimmage for the women's team.
