Senior Day Showcase For Women's Swimming & Diving As They Defeat Wilmington

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The John Carroll Women's Swimming & Diving Team wrapped up their dual meet season with a 162-43 defeat of Wilmington at the Johnson Natatorium on Senior Day and won all but one event they competed in.
 
JCU continued their unbeaten streak against the Quakers, winning their 23rd consecutive dual meet against them.
 
The meet began with a win in the 200 medley relay, comprised of all senior lineup of Maddie Panus, Ashley Lynch, Gwyneth Hamilton, and Rachel Halapchuk.  They clocked in with a time of 1:55.77.
 
Anna Glass (11:46.01) and Olivia Goodman (2:05.41) each recorded victories in the 1000 freestyle and 200 freestyle, respectfully, while JCU had 1-2-3 finishes in the 50 freestyle, 100 IM, and 100 butterfly.
 
Allie Geletka (25.98) led the way in the 50 freestyle, while Hamilton did the same in the 100 IM (1:04.36).  Mairin Dalziel touched the wall with a winning time of 1:01.20 in the 100 butterfly as well.
 
Glass came away victorious for the second time during the meet in the 100 freestyle (57.14), while the team recorded 1-2-3 finishes in the 100 backstroke and 500 freestyle, with Lauren Koppelman (1:03.89) and Lynch (5:36.36) earning the gold, respectfully.
 
Glass, Dalziel, Kaitlyn Hilty, and Elena Kessler ended the meet as members of the winning 200 freestyle relay with a mark of 1:45.32.
 
Catherine Steinwachs, Sarah Hanlon, and Kathryn Visco each finished in the top three in both the one and three meter diving events.
 
The Blue Streaks will go for their seventh consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference crown, as their next event is the OAC Championships at the Ocasek Natatorium at the University of Akron from February 15-18.
