SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The fall season concluded with a busy Monday for John Carroll Men's Golf at the Wittenberg Fall Classic.

The Blue Streaks started the opening round on Sunday before darkness fell. So, on Monday the Blue & Gold completed the round and then began the second round.

Over the span of two days at the par-72 Springfield Country Club, the Blue Streaks collected a team score of 597, good for second place. John Carroll raced out to a score of 293 for the first round and finished with a 304 in the second round.

Results here

Jack Gerborg led the team from the fourth spot in the lineup with a final line of 73-71-144, finishing fourth in the field. The sophomore shined with a 1-over-par 73 to begin the tournament. The front nine treated him well, with birdies on the fourth, fifth, and eighth holes. His second round proved to be even better with a 1-under-par 71. The Avon native truly thrived on the back nine, with birdies on the 11th, 12th, 14th, and 17th holes. He added a birdie on the fourth hole for his strong finish.

Grant Lumley showcased his strong talents by tying for ninth, finishing 71-77-148. His opening round of a 1-under-par 71 is his tale of the weekend. The senior from Johnstown, PA carded birdies on a pair of par-5 holes (2nd and 12th) while also nabbing a birdie on the par-4 11th hole. Lumley did register an eagle on the second hole in round two, as well as a birdie on the 12th, but finished with a score of 77.

London Hoyser finished closely behind in a tie for 11th, marking down 75-74-148. Like Lumley, Hoyser bested the second hole with a birdie, and did well overall with a 3-over-par 75. The freshman improved by a stroke in the second round with a trio of birdies, carding a 2-over-par 74. He showcased excellent promise during his collegiate debut this fall.

Zach Brinks tallied a line of 74-83-157 for the weekend. A pair of birdies in the opening round on the first and 12th holes stand out as top moments in a 2-over-par 74 in the first round. Kamden Mowry rounded out the team, carding a 77-82-159 for the tournament. The freshman's birdie on the second hole helped his cause in the first round with a 1-over-par 37 in his first try on the front nine. His long-term promise is also exceptional.

Following some very promising results this fall, the Blue Streaks will take some time off to breathe before diving in with winter prep.
