UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – For the second time in three years, John Carroll Men's Lacrosse has tallied two USILA All-Americans.

On Wednesday, the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced its Division III All-Americans. Morgan Morrell and Jon Gaglio made the list as Honorable Mentions.

Morrell and Gaglio join Kevin Hack (2022) as well as Skyler Blake and Clayton Karam (2021).

Morgan Morrell powered the John Carroll offensive attack all season long. The Pickerington native proved to be JCU's go-to scorer and the man who had the ball in big situations, particularly in conference play.

The senior topped the team in goals with 61 on the season, finishing second in the conference. Morrell compiled 92 points in 18 games, earning him Ohio Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors. His 5.35 points per game this season ranks second in program history.

Morrell found twine in 15 of 18 games, with 11 games of 3 goals or more. The scoring star tabbed 5 goals in 6 games, including a season-best 8 goals against Capital in the OAC Tournament Semifinal. Against Lake Forest in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament, the Pickerington Central grad fired off 5 goals and 1 assist.

For his career, Morrell has notched 109 goals and 178 points, ranking fourth all-time with 69 assists and fifth in goals per game (1.91).

Jon Gaglio anchored the John Carroll defense from his spot in cage. The senior showcased his agility and quickness in net this year, along with plenty of intestinal fortitude to help on clear attempts and on defense.

The Webster, NY native started 17 games and played all 18 games at goalie. For the year, Gaglio played over 972 minutes, compiling 178 saves. He ranks third in NCAA Division III in goals against average (GAA) at 7.28 after winning a statistical national championship a year ago with a mark of 7.03. Additionally, Gaglio ranks 12th in the nation in save percentage with a figure of .601.

Gaglio finished with double-digit save totals in 11 games this season. His 9.71 saves per game rank first in program history.

For his career, Gaglio is the program leader in saves with 406, along with 44 wins (44-6 in his four seasons).

Morrell and Gaglio played critical roles in leading the Blue Streaks to a seventh straight OAC Tournament Championship, along with another appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
