HIGHLAND HILLS, Ohio – Before John Carroll and Baldwin Wallace met on the gridiron, the two schools took the rivalry to the golf course.

Just like football, the Blue Streaks got the job done in men's golf today.

John Carroll Men's Golf won the Battle of the Cuyahoga at Highland Golf Course on Saturday, as JCU "A", JCU "B", and JCU "C" all defeated the two Baldwin Wallace squads.

The JCU "A" squad led the way in Highland Hills with a team score of 292. Jacob Hazen led all golfers with a strong score of 72 (+1) on the day, with a 34 on the front nine and a 38 on the back nine. Zach Brinks tied him for the top score, hitting an even-keel 36 on both the front and back nines.

Kamden Mowry and London Hoyser performed excellently for the top team, carding identical scores of 74 (+3) in an overall wonderful day for the Blue Streaks. The fifth golfer was Jack Gerborg, who finished with an 80 for the day.

Topping the "B" team was Anthony Nuzzo. The Pittsburgh Central Catholic grad fired up a 73 (+2), including a strong 35 on the final nine. Three freshmen tied to complete the team's tally of 301. Austin Malley, Carson Meyer, and Justy VonLehmden all registered a score of 76 for the event. And rounding things out was Wade Boyle with a 78.

The JCU "C" team earned far more than merely a passing grade with a final score of 305. Grant Lumley led the way with a marvelous 73 for the event. Anthony Krakowiak carded a 75 on the day. Just behind him was Daniel Donahue, as the freshman notched a 76. The final score was provided by Paul Litrenta with an 81. The final man was Michael Cummins with an 84.

With great experience for the whole team today, the Blue Streaks will have a quick turnaround for tomorrow. John Carroll will get a chance to play at River Greens, as part of the Rumble at the River with Mount Union.
