Alumni Meet Recap: Swimming & Diving Enjoys Festive Meet

John Carroll Swimming & Diving welcomed a host of alumni back to campus.
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – The Blue Streaks of all ages came out to perform on Saturday.

John Carroll Swimming & Diving welcomed many notable alumni back to Johnson Natatorium to compete with our current Blue Streaks. All alumni were welcomed to participate in this event. The meet consisted of two teams 'Blue Vs Gold' who were competing against each other.

The meet was a mixed meet with men and women getting to compete against each other trying to outswim the swimmer next to them. Some memorable swims were the events where the competitors swam with different articles of clothing such as jeans or a long-sleeved shirt.

Current assistant coach Maddie Dolce even participated in a few events herself facing off against her swimmers.

Many notable alumni competed in this meet such as Forrest Campbell who was a part of last year's Blue Streaks Swim and Dive team. Another notable alum is Jim Smith class of '78, who was a part of the original JCU swim and dive team.

During the "halftime" break the JCU parents participated in a duck toss from the stands. The winner of the toss won half of the donation money raised during the swim meet.

In putting some incredible times up on the board the men's and women's team heads into their first two dual meets of the season: Friday against the Mount Union Raiders at 6:00 pm down at Mount Union and Saturday at home against the Ohio Northern Polar Bears at 1 pm in Johnson Natatorium.
