Men's Cross Country Posts 8th Place Performance at Paul Short Run

Men's XC toes the line at Paul Short
Bethlehem, PA - The men's cross country team traveled across state borders to the 50th rendition of the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh University and sponsored by ASICS. Their last appearance at this meet was in 2022, with a 29th-place performance in the top-seeded Gold Division.

Men's Open 8k Results

The morning started strong for the Streaks in the Men's Open Race, which saw a staggering 588 runners toe the line. Finishing first for the team was sophomore Nate Julien, who placed 71st with a strong 25:36.5 in his 2024 8k opener. Following Julien was senior Jett Wieber, placing 231st with a time of 27:02. Rounding out the top five were senior Jack Root, junior James Johnson, and junior Brian Standley. 

Men's White Division 8k Results

The afternoon featured the Streak's varsity squad in the Men's White Race, which had 14 ranked DIII teams in a field of 373 runners. The men fought through hot weather and a delayed start to finish 8th out of 41 squads. Finishing first for the the team with a 27th place finish was senior Dominic Delmoro, who ran a time of 25:13.9. Next up was senior Ryan Champa, who ran 25:20.6 and placed 40th. Third for the team and 45th overall was senior Barrett Scheatzle with a time of 25:25.5. Rounding out the top five were junior Ian Paul (84th, 25:53.4) and freshman Sam Su (95th, 26:03.9). 

The men fought through hot weather and a delayed start to finish 8th out of 41 squads. Leading the team with a 27th place finish was senior Dominic Delmoro, who ran a time of 25:13.9. Next up was senior Ryan Champa, who ran 25:20.6 and placed 40th. Third for the team and 45th overall was senior Barret Scheatzle with a time of 25:25.5. Rounding out the scoring five were junior Ian Paul (84th, 25:53.4) and freshman Sam Su (95th, 26:03.9). 

The Streaks will continue to train hard as they prepare for the Mike Woods Invitational, hosted by SUNY Geneseo on October 19th.
