WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The fall cannot offer a true preview of what the spring will bring, but when you have an opportunity to get a closer look, you'll take it.

John Carroll Men's Golf seized that opportunity this weekend and rose to the occasion at River Greens Golf Course.

Placing four golfers in the top ten, the Blue Streaks won the OAC Fall Preview by a margin of 13 strokes.

The men of Jeff Pawlowski roared for a final tally of 289-299-588, besting the second-place team from Capital (601). In an indication of great depth, John Carroll's "B" team also competed well, compiling a line of 305-308-613 for fifth place, beating out a few "A" teams from other schools.

Not one Blue Streak stole the spotlight in West Lafayette, as it was a full team effort. As per usual, it was Daniel Donahue to top JCU's ledger. The Pittsburgh native opened the weekend with a 71 (-1) before finishing out with a 74 (+2), good for a final score of 145 (+1) and a third-place effort. Wade Boyle finished only one stroke off following an opposing pattern, starting with a 75 (+3) before coming back with a 71 (-1). The Greensburg Central Catholic alum stood alone in fourth place.

Austin Malley did nice work as per usual for JCU. The sophomore shot a 71-77-148 (+4), good for a tie for fifth place. Playing on the "B" team, London Hoyser tied him for the honor, registering a 76-72-148.

Michael Keefe's final mark looked quite similar to Malley's, just one stroke behind. The freshman continued his strong year with a tab of 72-77-149 (+5), tying for eighth. Rounding things out was Kamden Mowry, no slouch. His tally of 75-77-152 got him into the top 15 still.

Looking at the "B" team, Paul Litrenta deserves plenty of kudos. The junior marked down a card of 77-74-151 (+7), tying for tenth in a strong field. Jack Gerborg (74-81-155), Justy VonLehmden (78-81-159), and Anthony Krakowiak (80-84-164) also competed for JCU.

All in all, the Blue Streaks have plenty to be proud of. Beyond winning the team trophy, John Carroll showed its strong depth and competed well on a course that's hosted many an OAC Championship over the years.
