UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- On Tuesday at noon, the College Sports Communicators All-District teams were announced, and several Blue Streak athletes from the winter season garnered the honor.

In the past year, the College Sports Communicators All-District award has become more stringent, with games played and started requirements making the award a more prestigious honor. These changes include a playing time minimum of 90% of the games an athlete's team played during the year or 66% games started minimum, plus a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA).

The honoree representing John Carroll Men's Basketball is Henry Raynor. Raynor received an All-District nod for the first time in his career.

Raynor played an integral role in the Blue Streaks Ohio Athletic Conference Championship season, to say the least.

The Business major provided an incredible effort on both ends of the floor as the starting power forward for the Streaks. Raynor started all 29 games this season for JCU. Along the way, he tallied several double-doubles. The veteran was key to everything the Blue Streaks did.

His shining moment of the year was of course the OAC Tournament Championship against Mount Union, where he played like the best big man on the floor. Raynor chipped in 16 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and tied the single-game JCU record with 6 blocks, helping secure the team's first OAC title since 2018.

Raynor and the Blue Streaks made the program's 13th NCAA Tournament appearance.
