Kasey Konte Hired as Associate Athletic Director for Operations

| By:
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – A rising star in the sports industry is joining the John Carroll Athletic Department.

Kasey Konte is JCU's new Associate Athletic Director for Operations following stops at Case Western Reserve University and the Lake County Captains.

Konte fills the role vacated by Allison Kwan, who is the new Manager of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for the Cleveland Guardians. Konte will start in her role early in the academic year.

"I am very excited to welcome Kasey Konte to our senior leadership team in athletics," said     Vice President for Athletics and National Engagement Brian Polian '97. "Her experience in event and facility management made her an ideal candidate for our organization.  More importantly, her desire to serve our students and engage with our community matches perfectly with our mission."

Konte most recently worked at nearby Case Western Reserve. The native Cleveander worked as Facility Coordinator during the 2021-22 academic year before receiving a promotion to Manager of Facility Operations and Member Services. In this role, Konte managed day-to-day operations for indoor and outdoor recreation and athletic facilities, most particularly the Veale Center. She oversaw coordination and scheduling of the 10+ athletic facilities, assisted with gameday management, and oversaw the student workforce.

Previously, Konte worked as the Manager of Stadium Operations for the Lake County Captains from January 2019 through April 2020. She served as the primary liaison with the City of Eastlake for safety and security, hired and supervised 70 part-time employees, and oversaw the gameday operation and general maintenance of Classic Park.

Konte is a Cleveland State alumna, graduating with her Bachelor's in Organizational Leadership in 2020. She also acquired an Associate's degree from Lakeland Community College in 2018. During her time as a student at CSU, Konte worked as a sports equipment and facilities assistant.

"I am extremely excited to continue my career with John Carroll University Athletics. I look forward to working with the excellent JCU staff in order to serve the JCU student-athletes and community," said Konte. "I want to thank Brian Polian and Kerry Bebie for this amazing opportunity. I am eager to collaborate on new projects to enhance our facilities and operations in the future!"

At John Carroll, Konte will lead gameday management, manage facilities, oversee transportation and summer camps, coordinate facility rentals, and serve as a liaison for on-campus partners and outside vendors, among other duties.

"We are excited to provide young professionals with the opportunity to grow in their respective fields," Polian said. "I am looking forward to watching Kasey flourish in this vital role within the department."
