Blue Streaks Earn Top Five Finish At Louisville Cross Country Classic

Blue Streaks Place Fifth Overall At Louisville Cross Country Classic This Past Saturday
LOUISVILLE, KY – The women's cross country team continue to showcase their depth on the course. 

The Blue Streaks made the trip down south to EP "Tom" Sawyer State Park for the Louisville Cross Country Classic this past Saturday and secured a fifth place team finish, scoring a total of 282 points against mostly Division III programs. 

Taking home the meet title was Kennesaw State, who scored 54 points, followed by Trine placing second with 97 points. 

Mid. Tennessee State would place third with a score of 121 points, while Trinity (TX) placed fourth overall with 248 points. 

Final Results

Sophomore Anne Rea was the first Blue Streak runner to cross the finish line as she would place 34th overall with a time of 22:48.3. 

Not too far behind was senior Abby Schroff placing 37th overall with a time of 22:53.9.

Sam Goodnough continues to impress placing 61st overall, clocking in at 23:12.0 in her highest finish on the team as a Blue Streak. 

Alyssa Vis (23:14.5) and Kylie Flere (23:32.0) rounded up the scoring as they both placed 66th and 84th respectively for JCU. 

Senior Morgan Dobos earned her way into the top seven this weekend placing 101st overall with a time of 23:46.5 in her highest team finish as well. 

Another senior that contributed throughout the entirety of the race was Cassie Klein, who finished with a time of 24:04.6 to place 123rd overall. 

This was another stepping stone for the women's cross country team this season as they will be back here in six weeks for the NCAA Regional Championships. 

Next up for the team will be the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday, October 18th at the Oberlin College North Fields - Cross Country Course.
