Blue Streaks' Ticket Punched to NCAA Division III Football Playoffs, Set to Host

John Carroll will host Randolph-Macon in the Second Round on November 29

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – For the second straight year, John Carroll Football is headed to the playoffs. The Blue Streaks wrapped up the regular season on Saturday at Denison with a 48-21 victory, finishing with a 9-1 record.

John Carroll received an automatic bid to the playoffs by winning the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championship with an 8-0 record.

John Carroll will host #20 Randolph-Macon College in the Second Round of the 2025 NCAA Division III Playoffs at Don Shula Stadium on Saturday, November 29 at 12 pm.

This appearance marks the ninth in program history for the Blue Streaks, and the second under Head Coach Jeff Behrman '95. John Carroll owns a record of 10-8 in NCAA Tournament games. JCU's previous appearances were in 1989, 1997, 2002, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2024.

Randolph-Macon is located in Ashland, Virginia. The Yellow Jackets and Blue Streaks have matched up only once in history in 2018. Randolph-Macon won that matchup, 23-20, on November 17, 2018.

The Yellow Jackets won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference with an 8-0 league record. Randolph-Macon enters the postseason with a 9-1 record.

The winner of JCU vs. RMC will face off against the winner of Muhlenberg/Union (NY) and #2 Mount Union in the Third Round on December 6.

John Carroll, ranked #9 in the latest D3football.com and AFCA polls, ended the year at #10 in the NPI rankings. Randolph-Macon was ranked #20 in the D3football.com,#18 in the AFCA poll, and #19 in the NPI rankings.

This will mark the seventh time that Wasmer Field has seen an NCAA playoff football game. The Blue Streaks have a 4-2 record in home NCAA playoff games.
