Sam Su Qualifies To NCAA Cross Country Championships In Spartanburg, South Carolina

Sam Su Qualifies To His Second Ever Cross Country National Championship Meet
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The sophomore out of Akron, Ohio finds his way back to the national stage. 

Sam Su has qualified individually for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships in Spartanburg, South Carolina next weekend. 

He was the first Blue Streak to cross the finish line yesterday, earning Great Lakes All-Region honors for placing 13th overall with a time of 25:26.39. 

Last time Su appeared at the national meet was last year in Terre Haute, where he placed 281st with a time of 26:51.6 to be the lone first year in the top seven. 

JCU's last individual qualifier to the cross country championship meet was Kyle Monahan back in Fall 2018. 

Sam helped the men's team to earn a top three finish yesterday at the Great Lakes Regional Championships in Louisville Kentucky, placing third overall with a total score of 130 points. 

Looking forward to next weekend, Su hopes for redemption returning back to the national championships. 

The men's 8k championship race will take place this Saturday, November 22nd at 10:00am ET at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina hosted by Converse College.
