Women's Wrestling Secures Sixth at Albion Invite Thanks to 6 Placers

The Blue Streaks posted solid results in Michigan on Sunday

ALBION, Mich. – A sojourn up to Michigan yielded a bevy of placements for John Carroll Women's Wrestling.

The Blue Streaks finished in sixth place as a team while enjoying some individual success.

A total of six Blue Streaks placed in the event on Sunday.

Taylor MacAdam guided the way with a second-place result at 103 pounds. The first year from Madison tallied a pair of wins, including a 6-4 decision to close out the day. 

Olivia Beaulieu snagged a pair of wins to earn fourth at 180. An opening loss dropped her to the consolations, where the rookie won two bouts by fall. Another strong pin sent her to the third-place battle, which the New Lexington native lost via pin. 

Addy Crane penned a fifth-place result at 117, highlighted by an 8-0 opening win followed by a pair of victories (9-4 and then a late pin win) after losing in the second round. 

Nora Mooney snatched a trio of wins after losing her opening bout at 138, but a loss later in the consolations dropped her to seventh. 

Roma LoGiurato (124) and Leslie Sullivan (145) both opened with wins in their brackets, but then losses dropped them to the consis. Each Blue Streak picked up one more victory in her bracket, but no more, settling for eighth-place finishes.

The Blue Streaks will host the JCU Duals next Sunday at 11 am in the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center.
