Men's Swimming & Diving Drops Dual to Findlay

The Blue Streaks lost a dual to a Division II foe

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Saturday after the conclusion of finals marked the last competition of 2025 for John Carroll Men's Swimming & Diving.

The Blue Streaks trekked to Bowling Green State University for a dual against the Division II University of Findlay.

Despite some spirited competition, John Carroll lost to the Oilers by a score of 179-93.

Results

In an impressive showing to start, JCU played a pair of relays in the top three of the 200 Yard Medley Relay. David Miller, Alex Gallagher, Michael Vertikoff, and Cameron Cook led the way with a time of 1:34.14. Jacob Florio, Bart Kubis, Dominic Falcon, and Patrick Branch followed oh-so-close behind at 1:34.76.

Cook kept on rolling in the 200 Free, firing up a runner-up time of 1:42.77. In the 50 Free, Cook and Falcon both touched in at 21 seconds for third and fourth. Cook followed it up with a strong 47.42 in the 100 Free, good for third. 

Kmet and Joe Nadur finished back-to-back in second and third in the 1000 Free. Sam Kmet snagged third in the 500 Free.

Miller went 52.74 in the 100 Backstroke for third. Sticking with the sprints, Ian Hofmann and Alex Gallagher both hit 58 seconds in the 100 Breaststroke for second and third. Florio and Miller did strong work together in the 200 Back for second and third, highlighted by Florio's 1:55.79.

Branch continued his strong season alongside Nadur in the 200 Breaststroke, as the veterans both hit 2:08 to notch second and third. In the final individual event, Nadur went out with a flash, firing up a second-place time of 1:56.74 in the 200 IM. Florio followed closely in third.

Falcon, Owen Holm, Miller, and Branch finished off the day with a nice effort in the 200 Free Relay. The quartet combined for a time of 1:28:00.
