Women's Wrestling Snags Two Wins at Berg Holiday Duals

John Carroll heads into the holiday break with a 9-5 dual record

TIFFIN – The Berg Holiday Duals felt aptly named as snow descended on Saturday.

John Carroll Women's Wrestling returns home with a pair of victories,

The Blue Streaks picked up victories over Trine (45-5) and Alfred State (35-14). John Carroll also experienced defeat three times against West Liberty (13-41), Tiffin (14-34), and Otterbein (6-51).

The day began with a defeat to West Liberty. Taylor MacAdam provided the lone highlight with a 10-0 tech fall at 103 in the opening match.

Tiffin handed JCU a loss in the second dual of the day for the Streaks. Nora Mooney supplied a nice victory for John Carroll at 138, roaring for an 11-0 tech fall.

John Carroll got in the win column by cruising to a victory over Trine. Addy Crane (110), Emily Leeseberg (117), Mooney, and Adah Darst (145) fired up pin wins. The Blue Streaks looked great in this matchup from start to finish.

Otterbein dealt JCU a defeat in the penultimate match of the day. Crane notched the lone win, with a pin in 2:26 for the Blue & Gold.

To wrap up the day, JCU bested Alfred State for the second time in as many Saturdays.

Roma LoGiurato (124), Kaiden Boshers (131), Mooney, and Bella Cyrkiel (180) all managed pins in the opening minute of their matches. Leslie Sullivan (160) tallied a pin as well, needing over five minutes, but her six points counted all the same.

The Blue Streaks will have over a month off for the holidays before returning to action on January 16 for the Hiram Tri Meet.
