Basheer Alramahi Wins First USTFCCCA Great Lakes Regional Track Athlete Of The Year Award
NEW ORLEANS – For the first time in his Blue Streak career, Basheer Alramahi has garnered regional honors by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) after posting his best season for indoor track & field.

Basheer Alramahi is the Men's Track Athlete of the Year for the Great Lakes Region.

The Westlake, Ohio native had himself an indoor season for the Blue Streaks and it was one for the history books.

This past weekend at the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at Nazareth University in Rochester, New York, Alramahi earned his third consecutive All-American finish, earning NCAA Runner Up in the 400 meter dash. This was his ninth overall All-American honor in his career.

Prior to earning this accolade, Basheer broke the Division III National Record in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:02.64 at the OAC Indoor Championships, where he was named the OAC Sprinter Athlete of the Meet and was named a three-time All-OAC athlete and two-time OAC Champion in the 500 and 4x400 meter relay.

Throughout the season, Alramahi broke the school record for the 500 meter dash twice.

Basheer had other successes including being named the OAC Scholar Athlete of the Month in January and was a two-time OAC Athlete of the Week athlete for John Carroll Track & Field.

The junior continues to make a name for himself as he will look to finish off his third-year campaign for the Blue Streaks on a high note.
