WESTERVILLE -- Two very impressive Blue Streaks have been selected as John Carroll's winners of the 2024-25 Clyde Lamb award.

For the first time since 2011, Women's Soccer has garnered JCU's female representative. Madyson Rosado took the award home on the women's side after finishing an outstanding career on the pitch.

Matt Wrather secures the award on the men's side following a career on and off the field that was full of prestigious accolades.

The Clyde Lamb Awards are presented to the top male and female scholar-athletes at each of the Ohio Athletic Conference's 10 member schools. The awards were presented at the OAC's year-end banquet on Monday evening.

Madyson Rosado

The senior has thrived on the field and in the classroom throughout her four years in University Heights while tallying up a long list of both athletic and academic achievements.

Beginning with her conference accolades, Rosado has received a significant amount of recognition. The senior out of North Ridgeville took home OAC Athlete of the Week honors two times. Rosado was named to the All-OAC Second Team as a sophomore and then First Team as a junior and senior. The conference recognition doesn't stop there, as Rosado was named to the 2023 All-OAC Tournament Team and honored as the 2024 OAC Forward of the Year.

At the regional level, Rosado snagged First Team All-Ohio recognition twice in her career.

Moving on to her many academic accomplishments, Rosado has been named Academic All-OAC in each of the past three seasons. Rosado has also twice been named to both the All-Ohio and United Coaches Academic All Region first teams. In both 2023 and 2024, she garnered United Coaches Academic All-American Third Team recognition. She also secured a spot on the the College Sports Communicators Academic All District team. Rosado was also recently named the winner of John Carroll University's Blue Streaks Scholar Award.

After a very impressive career at John Carroll, Madyson is set to graduate with a degree in Forensic Psychology and an impressive this May. Her work has already begun, as Rosado works one-on-one with children with Autism.

Matt Wrather

The standout center is the second straight football player from JCU to win the Clyde Lamb Award, following former teammate Bricker Thiel.

Wrather will be remembered not just for what he did on the field but also the impact he had off it within the local community.

Starting off with his football accolades on the field, Wrather appeared on the All-OAC First Team in three straight seasons, including being named the winner of the OAC Ken Wable Award in 2023 and 2024, given to the top offensive lineman in the conference.

The accolades don't stop at the conference level, Wrather continued to rack up even more recognition nationally. Matt was named the winner of the 2024 Rimington Award, given to the most outstanding center in each of the NCAA's three divisions. D3football.com and the American Football Coaches Association both took note of his stellar play, naming him a 2024 All-American. The Associated Press and Walter Camp also didn't let Wrather's performance go unnoticed, as he was named an All-American by their organizations.

Wrather's off the field accolades are just as impressive as his on-field ones. Starring in the classroom, Wrather was named to both College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All District and Academic All-OAC three times throughout his career. The CSC continued to recognize Matt, naming him to their Academic All-American Second Team list in 2023 and First Team in 2024.

Off the field, Wrather was named to the 2024 Allstate Good Works Team for the time he dedicated towards service helping out his local community. Wrather and the rest of the Good Works team were honored during halftime of the 2025 College Football Playoff Quarter Final at the Sugar Bowl on January 2.

During the Blue Carpet Awards Wrather was once again honored as 2025 Man of Carroll as well as the 2025 Roman Canning Award Winner.

Following an outstanding four years with the Blue Streaks, Wrather is set to graduate in May with a business degree and a strong GPA.
