UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – Six smart Streaks have secured academic honors.

A total of six John Carroll student-athletes have snagged spots on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team.

Jennifer Crowley, Amanda Millis, and Amanda Pancake make it in honor of JCU Women's Golf, while Riley Knapp, Karson Martin, and Emily Van Gorder represent JCU Women's Lacrosse.

The CSC's At-Large Team recognizes student-athletes who compete in sports that do not have standalone Academic All-America® contests.

Jennifer Crowley stood as an anchor for the JCU Women's Golf squad over the past few seasons. A multi-sport athlete, Crowley also excelled in women's soccer. As for this season, the Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan native averaged a 94.5. Her top effort occurred at the Mount Union Spring Invitational, while she also repped JCU in the OAC Championship well. A three-time Academic All-OAC winner for golf, Crowley walked the stage in May with her Biology degree.

Amanda Millis is a budding contributor to the squad for JCU. The sophomore performed aptly at the OAC Championship and throughout the campaign. For the first time, Millis snagged Academic All-OAC honors this spring as a Marketing and Supply Chain major.

Amanda Pancake provided low scores for JCU all year along as a senior star. The Columbus native finished the campaign with an 87.2 average. Pancake missed All-OAC honors this year by a tad after winning the honor a year ago, but she finished her three-year streak for Academic All-OAC honors and now makes it two years in a row with Academic All-District honors. Pancake graduated in May with her Biology degree.

Riley Knapp found impressive success during her sophomore year with JCU Women's Lacrosse. The speedster proved to be a key cog in a high-flying JCU offensive attack, starting all 19 games. The Cazenovia, New York native accumulated 39 goals and 45 points offensively, all while leading the team in draw controls with 110 and groundballs with 49. An IWLCA All-Region and All-OAC honoree, Knapp accepted OAC Athlete of the Week recognition on April 14, too. The Exercise Science major and Sports Information employee made the Academic All-OAC list this spring.

Karson Martin served as a vital member of an OAC Championship team. The Pittsburgh native played in 18 games, starting 16. The midfielder tabbed 2 goals and 2 goals, along with 36 draw controls and 14 groundballs. The Exercise Science major notched Academic All-OAC honors for the second time in a row this year.

Emily Van Gorder provided strong defensive efforts behind the scenes for JCU this season. The junior started all 19 games this season. The  Fairport, New York native registered 29 groundballs and 15 caused turnovers as part of a quietly excellent season. For a second straight time, the Primary Education major did strong work in the classroom to earn Academic All-OAC recognition.
