UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – A trio of experienced coaches have been added to the John Carroll Softball coaching staff.

Head Coach Tony Scibelli has hired Hailey Eckelberry, Matt McPeek, and Jeff Morganti onto his coaching staff.

"I'm extremely excited to have these amazing coaches to our JCU Softball program," said Scibelli. "Their wealth of experience coaching at the collegiate, high school and travel ball levels will help our program reach new heights. In particular, Coach Eckelberry, Morganti and McPeek will be essential in helping in player development both defensively and offensively. Our players will be well prepared for the spring season."

Hailey Eckelberry

Eckelberry joins the staff after a 3-year stint as an assistant coach at Walsh Jesuit High School. During her time at Walsh Jesuit, the Warriors softball program reached new heights, being ranked in the top ten nationally and #1 in the OHSAA state polls.

Eckelberry played collegiately at the University of Akron. She was an all-state shortstop and outfielder at Cloverleaf High School, where she set school records for stolen bases and walks.

She graduated from Akron with a degree in Sports Science with a focus in coaching and nutrition. Eckelberry is a certified hitting, slapping, and fielding instructor.

Prior to Baldwin Wallace, Morganti was a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Akron in the fall of 2024 and worked with the outfielders.

He served as the head coach at Willoughby South High School in 2023 and assistant coach at NCAA Division II Ursuline College in 2022.

Morganti guided Lakeland to the NJCAA Region XII tournament in 2021 and 2022.

In addition, he was the head coach at Eastlake North High School from 2003-09. While at North, Morganti compiled a 125-72 record with three Premier Athletic Conference Championships and a Division I district title. He was named Premier Athletic Conference Coach of the Year three times.
