The eight honorees did fine work in the classroom and on the field

The 2025 John Carroll Football season was a historic season for the Blue Streaks, finishing 12-2 and making their way to the NCAA Division III Semifinal. The season was outlined by defining wins, namely a double overtime thriller at Mount Union in the playoffs and a critical North Coast Athletic Conference victory at DePauw. But the season wasn't just great on the field.

Following the conclusion of the 2025 season, eight Blue Streaks have been honored as members of the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.

Ben Dehmer, Adam LaCarte, Shane Lindstrom, Troy Mrukowski, Grant Myers, Owen Schuckert, Colin Schuler, and Nick Semptimphelter all achieved the marks necessary, with GPAs above 3.5 while competing in 90 percent of the institution's games played or starting in at least 66 percent of the institution's games.

Ben Dehmer played a key role on the offensive line as a talented right guard. The bigtime lineman snagged a spot on the All-NCAC Third Team. The Columbus native is pursuing an Accountancy degree.

Adam LaCarte played an important role as a safety this season. The sophomore recorded his second career interception in the Blue Streaks dominant playoff victory over Berry. In addition, the Pittsburgh native recorded 29 total tackles and 5 pass breakups in his first season as a starter. The Pittsburgh native is a Finance major.

Troy Mrukowski starred as an anchor at right tackle this season, one of the team's top offensive linemen. The junior from Powell, Ohio stepped up as a leader on and off the field, being honored to the All-NCAC Second Teamer for the 2025 season. The Olentangy Liberty grad is pursuing his degree in Sports Leadership.

Grant Myers stood as the critical protector at left tackle. The only senior member of the offensive line, Myers was also named a team captain. The veteran earned a spot on the 2025 All-NCAC First Team following a spectacular season. While the Warren native suffered an injury in the playoffs, Myers' leadership was felt throughout the entire playoff run. Myers will graduate in May with his degree in Marketing.

Shane Lindstrom shined for the Blue Streaks in his first season after transferring from Ohio Dominican. The star wideout made major catches throughout the season, most notably his one-handed touchdown grab that eventually boosted John Carroll to their overtime victory at Mount Union. The junior hauled in 53 catches for 676 yards and five touchdowns en route to an All-NCAC Third Team bid as a receiver and a Second Team placement as a kick returner. The Youngstown native is an Accounting major.

Owen Schuckert is a repeat member of the CSC Academic All-District team. The Brooklyn Heights native was most notably named to the 2025 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, for which he was honored in New Orleans at the Sugar Bowl. Schuckert averaged 40.1 yards per punt this season, providing a significant advantage in the field position game. The senior plans to walk the stage in May with his degree in Exercise Science.

Colin Schuler enjoyed an excellent season as the team's primary kicker. Most notably, the junior fired home the game-winning field goal over Mount Union in double overtime. Schuler was honored on the 2025 All-NCAC Second Team following a 13-of-18 performance on field goals this season and recording 42 touchbacks as the team's kickoff man.

Nick Semptimphelter had a legendary season for John Carroll, bringing in a laundry list of awards. The graduate student quarterback earned All-NCAC First Team, D3football.com Region 4 First Team and Offensive Player of the Year, D3football.com Fourth Team All-American, 2025 Gagliardi Trophy semifinalist, and 2025 Campbell Trophy semifinalist honors.
