It's Homecoming Weekend for John Carroll!

Happy Homecoming, Blue Streaks!

A busy weekend sees our teams returning home and traveling far, here's what to look out for.

Football

Coming off of their first loss of the season, JCU Football comes home to Don Shula Stadium to make a stand. The Blue Streaks have maintained a shutout at home, and doing so again would be the perfect way to celebrate Homecoming and Hall of Fame weekend.

Kickoff against NCAC rival Wabash College is Saturday, October 17th at 1:05 pm. The game can be watched on Cleveland's 43.

Women's Soccer

The Blue Streaks executed an incredible shutout against Ohio Wesleyan last weekend, winning 3-0. Each goal was off a different foot, one from Lucy Kuerbis, Ella Wilgor, and Lucy Alteri. Goalkeeper Madison Skeese was awarded NCAC Athlete of the Week after delivering two back-to-back shutouts.

JCU Women's Soccer returns to Don Shula Stadium to take on Oberlin College on Saturday, October 17 at 5 pm.

Men's & Women's Cross Country

While a heat concern canceled their last meet, the JCU Cross Country teams used it as an opportunity to recuperate and prepare for their upcoming meets.

JCU Women's Cross Country will head to the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble in Oberlin, OH on Saturday, October 16, at 10:15 am and 1:15 pm.

Meanwhile, JCU Men's Cross Country will participate in the Augustana Interregional Invitational in Rock Island, IL at 11 am.

Field Hockey

A tough loss to Wittenberg last weekend broke the winning streak JCU was on. Kierra Maxie gave the team a spark of hope with her fifth goal of the season. The game was also only the third time a single goalkeeper has stayed between the posts, with Ava Bunce taking the helm with a 71% save percentage on the day.

JCU Field Hockey has a busy weekend of traveling. First, the team takes on Transylvania University in Lexington, KY on Saturday, October 16 at 1 pm. Then they head for Danville, KY, to compete against Centre College for the second time this season on Sunday, October 17th at 12 pm.

Volleyball

Advancing their season to 12-7, the Blue Streaks served a powerful game against Case Western Reserve earlier this week. With sets going back and forth, strong games from Natalie Glowe and Mary Kate Sheehan pushed the team to success with a near-flawless fifth set. Sheehan recorded a season-best 18 kills, Glowe right behind her with 17.

Traveling to Steubenville, Ohio, the Blue Streaks compete twice on Saturday, October 17. They face Hiram first at 2 pm and Franciscan second at 4 pm.

Men's Soccer

While the final score was not in their favor, JCU Men's Soccer executed a phenomenal match against #25 Kenyon earlier this week. Both teams vied for possession throughout the full 90 minutes and remained tied at 2-2 for a majority of the second half before an Owl managed to find the back of the net at the last minute.

The Blue Streaks head for Delaware, Ohio, to face off against Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday, October 17 at 7 pm.

Women's Golf

After taking second place their last time on the green, the Blue Streaks head for their final matchup of the season. Traveling to Hinkley, JCU Women's Golf will participate in the Baldwin Wallace Fall Shootout on Sunday, October 18, and Monday, October 19.

Club Hockey

Another dual weekend is on the horizon for JCU Hockey. Splitting last weekend against Hope College, the team gained a point on either side of their overall record, improving to 5-3 for the season so far.

Traveling to PA on Friday, October 16th, the Blue Streaks will face off against Duquesne University at 9:20 pm. Then the team returns to Gilmour Academy on Saturday, October 17th, to take on Robert Morris University at 6 pm aiming to defend their undefeated record at home.

Men's & Women's Swimming and Diving

With a dominant win over Heidelberg in their home opener, the JCU Swim and Dive teams head confidently into their next meet. Cameron Cook and Audrey Sevald both received NCAC Athlete of the Week Honors for their efforts.

The JCU Alumni Meet will take place in the Johnson Natatorium on Saturday, October 16 at 9:30 am.
