Happy Fall, Blue Streaks!
Most of our teams are on the road this weekend, here's what to look forward to:
Football
John Carroll Football improved their win-streak to 3 games last weekend with an impressive win over Kenyon during senior night. The team scored 56 unanswered points before Kenyon broke the shutout late in the fourth quarter with a single touchdown.
The Blue Streaks return to Don Shula Stadium this Saturday, September 26 at 1:05 pm to face off against Wittenberg University in North Coast Athletic Conference play.
JCU will celebrate Parents & Family Weekend as well as Get in the Game Awareness Day for NMDP. If you can't make it out, the game will be broadcast on Rock Entertainment Sports Network and Cleveland's 43 and live streamed for free as always.
Men's Soccer
A scoreless tie with NCAA #2 Case Western earlier in the week carry the Blue Streaks into their next match. The competition was a hard fought defensive battle with 7 shots from John Carroll and a late shot from Ryan Cvitkovic that was ultimately ruled as offsides.
John Carroll is back on the road this weekend as the team heads for Westerville to face off against Otterbein University Saturday, September 26 at 7 pm.
Women's Soccer
The Blue Streaks faced a disappointing loss at home against Heidelberg earlier this week. It was a game of possession and pace, both of which John Carroll dominated throughout the game with a total of 21 shots. However, Heidelberg pounced on the opportunities they had to secure the win.
The Blue Streaks head to Fredonia, New York on Saturday, September 26 to compete against Fredonia State at 1 pm.
Field Hockey
The Blue Streaks were unable to capitalize on opportunities to strike throughout their game against D'Youville, falling 3-2. Kierra Maxie and Sophia Schultheis put in some powerful goals, but miscues throughout the final few minutes of the game left the team in defeat.
John Carroll travels to Washington, PA this Saturday, September 26 to face
NCAC foe Washington and Jefferson College.
Volleyball
A loss to Grove City College upset the Blue Streaks 5-match win streak. Each set was a tight final score, only six points making up the largest margin. The team is looking to get back on track as they face off against their first NCAC rival of the season.
Traveling to Delaware, Ohio, the Blue Streaks will face off with Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday, September 26 at 1 pm to start conference play.
Club Hockey
Blue Streaks Hockey opened their season with a stellar 2-0 sweep over Villanova last weekend. First-year Evan Weiner brought home the win in the first game during overtime, scoring his very first goal with JCU. The next night, Colin Cronin showed up and showed out with a hat trick to cap off the weekend with a win.
The Blue Streaks travel to Michigan this week to face off against Davenport University on Friday, September 25 at 8:30 pm and Saturday, September 26 at 6:20 pm.
