The Blue Streaks enjoyed a successful spring, winning three championships

CLEVELAND – Without a doubt, the first year in the North Coast Athletic Conference was one to remember for John Carroll Athletics.

The Blue Streaks enjoyed a strong debut year in the NCAC with plenty of trophies to show for it.

Unfortunately all of the success across the three seasons could not unseat the reigning champions, Denison University, as the Blue Streaks finished second in the 2025-26 Dennis M. Collins All-Sports Trophy standings.

John Carroll registered 196.5 total points, just behind Denison's final tally of 202.5 points.

Across the spring sports, the Blue Streaks claimed three North Coast Athletic Conference trophies. John Carroll accumulated 81 points in the spring, 10 behind the first-place Big Red.

It's important to note that one trophy is awarded, not one to the men's winner and one to the women's winner. Another important distinction here: Tournament results do not impact points in the all-sports standings.

John Carroll conquered the competition in Men's Golf, Men's Outdoor Track & Field, and Women's Outdoor Track & Field. The three championships netted John Carroll 11 points per title.

Women's Tennis tabbed third in the standings, good for 9 points while making the NCAC Tournament Semifinals. Women's Lacrosse notched 8 points as the fourth placers while also making the semifinals. Baseball tied for fourth in the regular season, tabbing 7.5 points, punching a ticket to the tournament.

Women's Golf secured 7 points, Men's Lacrosse added 6 points, Softball scored 5.5 points, and Men's Tennis snagged 5 points.

In the winter, JCU won the program's first women's indoor track and field title. Additionally, JCU Men's Basketball claimed the NCAC tournament crown.

In the fall, the Blue Streaks claimed NCAC crowns in Football, Men's Cross Country, and Women's Soccer.

Some history and information via the NCAC release:
The All-Sports champion earns the Dennis M. Collins All-Sports Trophy, given annually to the school that performs the best across the NCAC's 23 sports. Eleven points are awarded for a first-place finish, ten for a second, nine for a third, and so on. Men's and women's performances are combined, exemplifying the North Coast's commitment to equity and balance among programs. Wooster won three of the first four All-Sports championships, interrupted only by Denison in year two. Ohio Wesleyan followed with a six-year run, leading to titles by Wooster (twice), Wittenberg (once), Denison (nine), OWU (twice), and then a tie between Denison and OWU in 2009. Wittenberg earned its second All-Sports title in 2010, followed by Denison in 2011 and DePauw in 2012. Denison then claimed back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014, before DePauw regained the championship in 2015. The Big Red reclaimed the title after the 2015-16 academic year, followed by DePauw in 2017 before Denison once again earned back-to-back titles the next two years. An all-sports trophy was not awarded in 2020 or 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Big Red then secured five straight titles from 2022-26 to collect the last seven trophies."
