Kenneth Rawls Signs with German Football League's Remscheid Amboss

Rawls and his QB Nick Semptimphelter will both be playing in Germany this spring

REMSCHEID, Germany -- Another Blue Streak is taking their talents to the international scene.

Kenneth Rawls, John Carroll's star tight end, has signed with the German Football League (GFL) for the 2026 season.

Rawls will be playing for the Remscheid Amboss (the Anvils in English), a team currently at the Regionalliga level of the GFL.

Last season, Amboss played in the lower level: The Oberliga. However, after winning the American Football NRW (North Rhine-Westphalia) Oberliga in 2025, the team has been promoted to the next level and are looking to continue rising in the ranks.

Rawls is certainly a player who can help a team achieve great things.

In 2024, the Nashville native had over 300 receiving yards and scored 6 touchdowns. He was honored with All-OAC First Team status.

Rawls continued to be a sure target for Nick Semptimphelter in 2025. Putting up more than double his previous receiving yards, Rawls finished the season with 669 yards and 9 touchdowns. The graduate student hauled in a key touchdown for the Blue Streaks in the NCAA Quarterfinal at Berry College.

His strong work ethic and skills developed at John Carroll will serve him well in the GFL and he will surely be a linchpin in Remscheid's push for promotion.

The GFL Regionalliga begins playing in April 2026, certainly with Rawls dressed in silver and ready to play. As Rawls' heads to Europe to continue his athletic journey, the John Carroll community will be supporting him from afar.
