Men’s Track & Field Places Third Overall At NCAC Indoor Championships

SPRINGFIELD, OH – The Blue Streaks returned for the second day of competition at the 2026 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted at Wittenberg University. 

The men gained one spot on the final day of the championship meet placing third overall with a total score of 111 points. 

Winning the NCAC conference title was Wittenberg University with 157 points, followed by Wabash College earning 144 points.

To get day two started, both Jordon Rodman and Jeremy Frazao set the tone in the triple jump, scoring a combined total of 10 points to get on the board. 

First year Cole Mayer brought the energy from day one into the second day as he would place fifth overall in the men's shot put. 

In one of the most impressive finishes in the field events, sophomore Julius Kimbrough shocked the field and won the men's high jump with a mark of 1.99 meters. It was his first conference championship earned. 

Moving on to the track events, sophomore Sam Su was victorious in the mile with a time of 4:15.17 to pick up his first individual conference championship. 

In his third race of the indoor season, first year Carson Harrod would run his fastest time of the year in the 60 meter hurdles and place sixth overall. 

Tyler Gast and Basheer Alramahi returned in the final of the 400 meter dash and placed third and fifth overall for the team. Gast later returned for the 60 meter dash and scored as well. Alramahi would place fourth overall in the 200 meter dash to score five points for the Blue Streaks. 

The men's 800 meter run was a stacked field as the trio of Max Grillo, Josh Ackerman, and Ebrahaim Alzraqat all competed well and helped contribute in the final. 

Finally in the men's 4x400 meter relay, the team of Vincent Ononogbo, Jack Arnold, Ethan Show, and Jakson Mazzulo placed fourth overall to end the meet for JCU. 

It was a battle in every event as the men were able to place in the top three in their first NCAC Conference Championship meet in program history. 

Next up for the men's track & field program will be last chance meet week as they will travel to chase NCAA marks. The NCAA Indoor Championships is just two weeks away as the team will now gear up for more championship racing to close out the indoor season.
