Women's Tennis Opens NCAC Action at Kenyon

The Owls handed the Blue Streaks a defeat on Sunday afternoon

GAMBIER, Ohio – The North Coast Athletic Conference era started on Sunday for John Carroll Women's Tennis.

Against the preseason NCAC favorites and national contender Kenyon College, the Blue Streaks fought but scuffled.

The Blue Streaks accepted a 7-0 defeat at the Owls' Jasper Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.

Amidst a doubles sweep, Maddie Kavenagh and Evelyn Deren were the lone doubles team to put up a crooked number in a 6-1 loss at #1 doubles. 

Morgan Dobos notched the lone set win of the day, earning a victory in the first set, 6-4, before succumbing to defeat in three sets.

Deren scored in both sets at #2 in a 6-2, 6-1 loss, as did Felicity Kolb at #3 singles in a 6-1, 6-2 setback. Zoe Nicholas also put up a fight at the #6 slot in a 6-1, 6-2 loss.

Next Up
John Carroll will host Denison University, another NCAC powerhouse, next Sunday.
