Corll allowed just 1 earned run in 12 innings of work in Florida

CLEVELAND – For a second time this season, John Carroll Baseball has stolen the spotlight.

Blue Streaks Starting Pitcher Jake Corll has been honored as Pitcher of the Week in the North Coast Athletic Conference. This is John Carroll's second NCAC Baseball Athlete of the Week honor, and first for a pitcher. A year ago, Corll won the honor on March 10, 2025 in the OAC.

JCU Baseball was down in the Sunshine State this week, participating in the RussMatt Invitational. Corll made two starts and picked up wins in both contests.

On Tuesday, John Carroll took on Wartburg College and Corll took the mound. After giving up a first inning run, he was able to shut down the Knights offense for the next four innings. Corll ended the game with 6.0 innings pitched, facing 26 batters and striking out 7 of them. He allowed only 1 earned run and lowered his season ERA to 3.00.

Later in the week, John Carroll took on Keystone College and Corll would man the bump again. Once again, he went 6.0 innings pitched, but this time facing only 21 batters, striking out 4. The veteran allowed just 1 hit and 0 runs to pick up his second win of the week, and lowered his season ERA once again to 2.00.

The Austintown, Ohio native has been great for the Blue Streaks early in the season and has been a vital part of the 8-2 record carries into mid-March.
