BIRMINGHAM, AL – With three individuals and one relay, the men's track & field program conquered a historic feat this weekend at the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.

This is the fifth top 10 finish recorded from the men for indoor track & field.

Since 2020, out of the 57 qualifiers that have now competed on the national stage, 43 of the athletes have been All-American, which is 75%. The sprints, jumps, and hurdles group have qualified 28 athletes and 21 of them have earned All-American accolades (75%). On the distance side, there have been 12 All-Americans indoors.

A tremendous honor for a program that has been through a lot of success through recent memory.

To get the day started, sophomore Sam Su posted an impressive performance, finishing fifth overall in the mile final with a time of 4:15.22 to earn his first All-American honor of his career. Sam is the first All-American since Ethan Domitrovich in 2024 to be recognized as an All-American in the event.

The energy kept on rolling for the men as senior Tyler Gast recorded his first individual All-American performance during his career at John Carroll in the 400 meter dash final with a time of 47.82 seconds placing fifth overall.

Next up was senior Basheer Alramahi, who also earned an All-American accolade in a new event. Alramahi placed fourth overall, crossing the finish line with a time of 1:51.19. Alramahi collects All-American honors for the first time in the event since Caleb Correia in 2024.

Earlier in the day, Basheer was also recognized as the NCAA Elite 90 Award Recipient for Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field. The Westlake, Ohio native earns his second consecutive Elite 90 Award, which has never been done before in the history of Division III Track & Field. An incredible accomplishment for an incredible human being, who has been a true leader by example.

To conclude the meet, the men's 4x400 meter relay of Tyler Gast, Tony Tirado, Dustin Horner, and Basheer Alramahi ended on a high note, picking up a seventh place finish with a time of 3:15.29 to become First-Team All-Americans.

Coach Daniel Tutskey, Director of John Carroll University Cross Country/Track & Field couldn't have been more proud of the efforts displayed throughout the weekend, calling this performance "historic" for the program.

"Coming away with four All-American performances is one thing, but the way this group represented JCU this weekend on the national stage was phenomenal," said Tutskey.

The men faced a lot of challenges, but growth and experience has been a huge benefit this year as they will now continue their surge going into the outdoor season.
