INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A trio of Blue Streaks is ready for a trip to the big show.

The three Blue Streaks qualified in a total of seven events.

Official Psych Sheet

Jacob Florio leads the way for the Blue & Gold, punching a ticket in three events. The first-year Streak is headed to IU Natatorium with qualifying times in the 200 IM, 100 Backstroke, and 200 Backstroke.

The North Royalton native's top event is in the 200 Backstroke. The rookie tapped the wall in 1:46.64 in the last chance meet at Case Western Reserve, setting a school record. A couple of weeks after his third-place finish at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, his time is seeded eighth in the psych sheet. Florio finished fourth at the NCACs in the 200 IM, and his mark of 1:48.69 stands 17th in the field. Finally, Florio found a way to get the job done in the 100 Back portion of the 400 Medley Relay at CWRU, cutting a mark of 49.02 that has him 26th heading into nationals.

Bart Kubis shined once again this year, and will get to return in the 200 Breaststroke at the NCAA Championships after an appearance last year. Plus, he'll get a shot in the 100 Breaststroke.

The junior roared for a school-record time of 1:58.11 in the 200 Breaststroke at CWRU's last chance meet February 20-21. Just a week before that, the Park Ridge, Illinois native made history as the first JCU swimmer to claim an NCAC Championship. Kubis rates sixth on the psych sheet, in prime position to become an All-American in the event. Additionally, Kubis will get a shot in the 100 Breaststroke. The star swam a time of 55.15 at the NCAC Championships, just out of medal range in fourth. Heading into Indianapolis, Kubis stands 28th in the event. No stranger to the spotlight, this will be his third NCAA Championships appearance, first making the cut with the 200 Medley Relay team in 2024.

Cameron Cook will put his freestyle speed to the test against the best in both the 100 Free and 200 Free.

The sophomore starred at the NCAC Championships in the 200 Free, touching the wall in 1:37.84. His bronze effort in the event stands as especially impressive considering six NCAA "B" cuts happened in the race. The Fredericksburg, Virginia native appears 16th on the psych sheet in the event. In the 100 Free, Cook clocked in at 44.94, fourth place in a strong field. Heading into the national championships, Cook stands 33rd, looking to cut time and pick up some hardware.

The John Carroll trio will now have a little over two weeks to prepare for the spotlight in Indianapolis. The NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships are set to take place on March 18-21 at IU Natatorium.
