Quartet of Men's Wrestlers Earns NWCA Scholar All-American Honors

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- The National Wrestling Coaches Association has honored a quad of Blue Streaks as Scholar All-Americans.

The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has released their Scholar All-American selections with four Blue Streaks being honored. 

Kyle Bizjak, Ty Daugherty, Thomas Lunt, and Brett Stanley represent John Carroll Men's Wrestling as Scholar All-Americans. 

Senior Ty Daugherty has been exceptional for the Blue Streaks all year. He represented JCU Men's Wrestling at the NCAA Championships in the 133 weight class, ending his career with an impressive 20-15 record on the season. The Exercise Science major earned his spot on the Scholar All-American team by excelling in the classroom while earning fourth place in the region.

Senior Thomas Lunt shined in the classroom and on the mat, repping the Blue Streaks at the NCAA Championships, ending his season with a profound 25-13 record. The Accountancy major earned his spot on the Scholar All-American team with his hard work in the classroom while notching All-Region honors. 

Sophomore Brett Stanley had a great season with JCU Men's Wrestling while excelling in the classroom, ending with a notable 25-11 record. The Finance major excelled in the classroom to get the job done.

Junior Kyle Bizjak had an impressive season while shining bright in the classroom, ending with a remarkable 17-3 record. The Computer Science major took care of business in the classroom earning him a spot on the squad.
