The senior right hander held #25 CWRU scoreless in 7 innings of work on Saturday

CLEVELAND – What a start to the season for Jake Corll.

The big right-hander has enjoyed a heck of an opening to the 2026 campaign, and has been rewarded for his excellent effort.

Jake Corll is the North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

The Austintown, Ohio native wins the honor for the second time this season, previously garnering the accolade two weeks ago. Corll has indeed been on a roll this year, most recently dominating on the mound on Saturday.

Following JCU's difficult opening loss at #25 Case Western Reserve, the senior stood strong through seven innings for the Blue Streaks. Corll limited the talented Spartan bats to just two hits.

The veteran righty struck out six and walked two in an outstanding start. Thanks to Corll's brilliant outing, the Blue Streaks toppled the Spartans at Nobby's Ballpark, 11-0.

On the year, Corll sports a sterling 1.28 ERA, good for third in the NCAC. In 28 innings, the savvy senior has 25 strikeouts.

On tap for the Blue Streaks is a non-conference game at Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday plus the all-important NCAC opening series on Saturday at Schweickert Field vs. Wabash.
