Women's Tennis Wins 6th Straight, Beating Wooster in NCAC Play

The Blue Streaks have now earned three straight NCAC victories

WOOSTER – The transition to the new conference began with a pair of February losses, but March has brought plenty of success for John Carroll Women's Tennis.

The Blue Streaks are in the midst of a 6-game win streak, including three consecutive North Coast Athletic Conference victories.

The latest win was a 6-1 conquest at The College of Wooster on Sunday afternoon.

Doubles play proved to be fairly smooth for John Carroll. While the visitors dropped the #2 match, JCU handily won the #1 and #3 doubles contests. Maddie Kavenagh and Evelyn Deren fired up a 6-2 triumph at the top slot, while Morgan Dobos and Madi Davila rolled at the bottom of the order, 6-0.

The only blemish for JCU was a lengthy battle at #1 singles, as Kavenagh eventually lost a tiebreaker. But other than that, the Blue Streaks were golden.

Felicity Kolb clinched the first win at #4 singles with ease, 6-0, 6-0. Deren picked up JCU's next victory, a 6-1, 6-2 conquest. The visitors officially clinched the win with Dobos' double-bagel win.

For good measure, Emma Smith fired up a 6-2, 6-0 win at #5. Davila made it a rout with a 6-2, 6-3 win at #6.
