Men’s Track & Field Competes In Two Last Chance Meets At Wartburg And Ohio Northern

Sam Su Highlights Last Chance Meet Weekend, Earning A High Finish In The Mile
ADA, OH & WAVERLY, IA – With the NCAA Indoor Championships in one week, the Blue Streaks headed to a couple of last chance meets to chase more national marks. 

The final qualifiers that the Blue Streaks traveled to this weekend were the Polar Bear Final Qualifier hosted by Ohio Northern University and the NCAA Final Qualifier at Wartburg College. 

Several individuals are in contention of earning qualifying marks based on their indoor seasons, but have one last opportunity to cement themselves to compete on the big stage.

Some of the most notable performances from this weekend are included below:

Jordon Rodman (Triple Jump): 13.56
Sam Su (Mile): 4:10.20
Max Grillo (800 Meter Run): 1:55.57
Carson Harrod (60 Meter Hurdles Prelim): 8.93
Tyler Gast, Tony Tirado, Jack Arnold, & Dustin Horner (4x400 Meter Relay): 3:19.81

At the Polar Bear Final Qualifier, Jordan Rodman won the triple jump with a mark of 13.56 meters (44' 6"). This was Rodman's first victory in the event this season. 

Sophomore Sam Su had a fantastic race for the Blue Streaks, securing a second place finish in the mile with a time of 4:10.20. The Woodridge native is currently in 32nd in Division III with his personal record of 4:08.55, but after running that time today, that puts him in a better position to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships. 

The Blue Streaks will now await for the official NCAA Indoor Championship qualifiers list to be released, which will be Sunday, March 8th at 7:00 PM.

The men's track & field team will travel to Birmingham, Alabama for the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Birmingham Crossplex next Friday-Saturday, March 13th-14th.
