Women's Tennis Conquers Wittenberg to Clinch Spot in NCAC Tournament

The Blue Streaks breezed by the Tigers in the final conference match on the schedule

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – In the first season as members of the North Coast Athletic Conference, John Carroll Women's Tennis will be headed to the NCAC Tournament.

An easy 5-0 win at Wittenberg University assured it on Saturday for the Blue Streaks.

John Carroll ends conference play with a 5-2 mark, currently sitting third in the NCAC standings. JCU breezed by the Tigers on the road to wrap up the regular season slate.

The Blue Streaks easily rolled to the team doubles point. Maddie Kavenagh and Evelyn Deren fired up a 6-0 win at the top spot while Morgan Dobos and Felicity Kolb also notched a shutout at #2 doubles. 

Deren fired up a double bagel win, 6-0, 6-0, atop the singles lineup. Kavenagh won the second flight, 6-1, 6-0. 

JCU accepted forfeits at #5 and #6 singles. The #3 and #4 singles matches were not contested.

Next Up
John Carroll will now await the NCAC Tournament schedule, which will begin on Friday, May 1.
