Dakota Houston Earns NCAC Sprinter/Hurdler Athlete Of The Week After Stellar Performances At Georgia Tech This Past Weekend
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – The Beachwood native had quite the weekend for the Blue Streaks.

After earning two top 10 national marks at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia this past weekend, Dakota Houston is named the NCAC Women's Sprinter/Hurdler Athlete of the Week.

On the first day of competition, Dakota helped contribute the women's 4x100 meter relay to run 46.85 seconds, which is their fastest relay time this outdoor season.

Next, she competed in the 100 meter dash and placed fourth overall in a field against mostly Division I competitors, sprinting to a time of 11.67 seconds. She was .03 seconds shy of tying her school record.

She is currently ranked second in the 100 meter dash, while also being ranked 10th in the women's 4x100 meter relay.

This is now Dakota's third NCAC Athlete of the Week accolade combining both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Dakota and the women's track & field team will be competing this week at two meets including the Mount Union Classic on Thursday, April 23rd and the Ashland Alumni Invite on Saturday, April 25th.
