The JCU Baseball trio received the distinction from the College Sports Communicators

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – A trio of John Carroll Baseball stars have won academic honors. 

The College Sports Communicators announced the 2026 Academic All-District Baseball Team, featuring three Blue Streaks who achieved above a 3.5 cumulative GPA while reaching the necessary milestones (starting in 67% of games, playing in 90% of games, or reaching 17 appearances/35 innings pitched).

Frank Freeman, Austin Miller, and Jordan Suvak all made the grade for JCU Baseball. 

Frank Freeman starred on the mound for the Blue Streaks this season. The senior right-hander finished second on the team in starts with 11. The Chicago native also stood second on the squad in innings pitched, logging 49.2 innings this year. The veteran proved to be an integral part of the squad, striking out 34 batters. Freeman walked the stage in May with a degree in Computer Science. 

Austin Miller made history for JCU, setting the program record for appearances with 21, achieving the feat in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. The graduate student proved to be one of John Carroll's most effective pitchers, finishing with a strong 3.98 ERA. The Aurora, Illinois native logged 31.2 innings, striking out 22 batters. The Boler MBA grad topped the team with 5 saves on the season. 

Jordan Suvak helped to anchor the outfield this season. The senior played in 33 games, starting 27. The Murrysville, Pennsylvania native registered a .260 batting average, with 13 RBIs. Suvak nabbed 8 extrabase hits, including a homer vs. Wabash at Schweickert Field. The veteran walked the stage in May with his degree in Finance.
