Men’s Cross Country Places Second Overall In Dual Against Case Western Reserve

Men's Cross Country Scores 33 Points To Place Second At Bill Sudeck Invitational
HUNTING VALLEY, OH. – Cross country is back and the Blue Streaks kicked off their 2026 campaign this evening. 

The men traveled to Squire Valleevue and Valley Ridge Farms for the Bill Sudeck Invitational hosted by Case Western Reserve University. 

In the 6000 meter race, the Blue & Gold would secure a second place finish with a total score of 33 points, highlighted by five runners finishing in the top 10. 

Individual & Team Results

Leading the way for the Blue Streaks was Matthew Dienes placing fourth overall, clocking in at 20:03.3. 

Charles Payne was the next runner to cross the finish line for JCU, running 20:09.7 to place fifth overall. 

Everett Lynch, the first-year out of Bexley came across next to run 20:18.6 with a seventh place finish. 

Chris Whiting (20:32.9) and Aiden Walter (20:40.1) rounded out the top five for JCU placing eighth and ninth respectively. 

Another first-year who made an impact was Christopher Bohm. The St. Edward graduate placed 14th overall with a time of 20:59.0.

The men's cross country team will compete next at the Spartan Invite on Friday, September 11th at the Forest Akers Golf Course hosted by Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. Meet information to come next week.
