Women's Soccer Downed by Brockport in Erie

The Blue Streaks drop to 0-2 on the young season

ERIE – As to be expected with a young team, John Carroll Women's Soccer is in the midst of figuring things out.

On Saturday evening, the Blue Streaks no doubt learned a lesson or two in the midst of an early-season defeat.

John Carroll dropped a 3-0 decision against SUNY Brockport in the opener of the Herb Lauffer Memorial Women's Soccer Tournament at Penn State Behrend.

Amelia Breton did all the damage for the Golden Eagles, netting all three goals. Brockport got on the board early, tabbing the game's first goal in the third minute.

John Carroll did look to author a rapid response, firing a couple shots on net. But the Golden Eagles struck again and took the wind out of JCU's sails, firing home a goal in the 24th minute. JCU did have a flurry of chances in the 33rd minute but couldn't convert.

Offsides and fouls hindered JCU at times in the second half, though the Streaks kept at it in the hopes of making it interesting. However, all hope was lost with the hat trick goal for Breton late.

Madison Skeese made 5 saves in the full 90 minutes. A total of 19 Blue Streaks saw the pitch.
