A game featuring the 1996 Division III Linebacker of the Year (JCU's Chris Anderson) and the soon-to-be 1997 Division III Linebacker of the Year (JCU's London Fletcher) was supposed to be a defensive battle. But no one told the offenses. The highest scoring game in series history was not decided until the final two minutes, when Blue Streak quarterback Nick Caserio found John Priestap in the back of the end zone for the winning score. All told, the teams combined for 70 points and 766 yards, and the lead changed hands six times.
