Oct. 5 – Shula Stadium
John Carroll had control early in the game, and had established a 13-6 lead midway through the second quarter when Ryan DeGeorge scored a touchdown from 13 yards out. The Blue Streaks were driving again late in the half, but Baldwin-Wallace came up with two big sacks to force JCU out of field goal range. The Yellow Jackets tied the game at 13-13 when QB Dan Larlham scrambled ten yards for a touchdown halfway through the third quarter. Both teams had chances to take the lead, but it was not until John Carroll engineered a 15-play, 98-yard touchdown drive -- capped by a Tom Arth 1-yard scoring dive -- that the deadlock was broken. Even then, John Carroll's 20-13 lead was not safe, as the game ended with the Yellow Jackets offense stopped short on a last second play at the Blue Streaks' one-yard line.
