Cuyahoga Gold Bowl: 2011
Nov. 12 – Finnie Stadium
Final: B-W 45, JCU 37
The Blue Streaks looked to win their third straight Gold Bowl, and the first win by the visiting team since 2001. The Yellow Jackets would have none of it as they scored 45 points, behind Tyler Lohr, to beat the Blue Streaks 45-37 in front of a big crowd in Berea. The Blue Streaks found themselves down most of the day, with their largest deficit 45-29 with under 3 minutes left in the game. After a B-W touchdown, Blue Streaks wide reciever Lane Robilotto returned a kick 78 yards to the Yellow Jacket seven. Two plays later quaterback Devin O'Brien found the endzone on a one yard touchdwon run, followed by a successful two-point conversion. Kicker Kresimir Ivkovic's onside kick was successfully recovered by JCU runningback Chris Creel, thus giving the Blue Streaks one more chance to tie the game and force overtime. With six seconds on the clock at the B-W 12 yards, O'Brien couldn't complete the pass on the last play off the game, giving the Yellow Jackets their first Cuyahoga Gold Bowl victory since 2008.
