Practice Times

  • Mats will be available beginning at 12pm on Thursday and  at 6am on both Friday and Saturday.  
  • An email link to reserve times will be sent out soon.

Medical Examinations 

  • Medical Examinations and Weigh-ins will be conducted on the mats in the gym
  • Each weight class will line up in the designated area at 7:40
  • Wrestlers will be in alphabetical order by team name
  • Weight loss activity must end at 7:45 with the start of medical examinations
  • Athletic trainers will be asked to help with the medical examinations.   They will be contacted by the JCU athletic training staff with more information.
 

Weigh-ins

  • Coaches - Please bring a scale
  • Weigh-ins will be conducted on the mats in the gym
    • 125-133 on Mat 1, 141-149 on Mat 2, 157-165 on Mat 3, 174-184 on Mat 4, 197-285 on Mat 5
  • Assuming we will have 10 scales all +/- 0.2 lbs, we will use one scale per weight class
  • If we cannot get 10 scales, we will use 5 total, with one scale for two weight classes  
  • The scales will be declared official at 8:15.  Do not assume a scale will be used until confirmed.
  • There will be two pre-assigned coaches per weight class
  • If a wrestler is overweight, he will be directed to the designated area.  At the conclusion of all other wrestlers weighing in, that wrestler can challenge on each of the ten scales.

 

Warm Up Mats/Bullpen/Participant Seating

  • There will be two warmup mats between the team area and the competition mats
  • Wrestlers will report to the Bullpen prior to their match
  • Wrestlers will be released from the Bullpen and report to their mat when they are on deck
  • There will be bleacher seating behind the mats for athletes and coaches therefore only on-deck athletes and coaches are permitted to stand in the competition area.

Team Area
  • The designated team area will be on the backside of the AWE
  • Please keep all food and drinks in the team area

Locker Rooms
  • Locker rooms will be available for changing and showers
  • Locker rooms will not be secure so teams should keep their bags in the designated team area

Hospitality Room
  • Food and drink will be available in the Hospitality Area
  • Hospitality is for coaches, athletic trainers, officials, and table workers only

    • Go to www.trackwrestling.com 
    • Click "CLASSIC"
    • Click "Functions", click "Search Events"
    • Type "NCAA Region V", click "Search"
    • Select "NCAA Region V
    • Change User Type to "Viewer (classic)", Click "Enter Event"

Driving

  • John Carroll University is located at 1 John Carroll Boulevard, University Heights, Ohio 44118. 
    • Most navigation systems will go to this address.
  • You can also use 2514 South Belvoir Blvd, University Heights, Ohio 44118.  
    • This will bring you directly to the AWE.  Enter the parking lot from South Belvoir Blvd.
  • The AWE is located at the corner of South Belvoir Boulevard and Carroll Blvd.


Team Drop Off / Pick Up

  • Vans and buses can drop off teams outside the AWE on S. Belvoir Blvd.
  • Vans and small buses can park follow parking instructions below
  • If you have a charter bus, please contact kkonte@jcu.edu for information about parking
  • THE FRONT DOORS OF THE AWE WILL BE UNLOCKED FOR TEAM DROP OFF BETWEEN 6:00 AM and 7:30 AM EACH DAY.  THE DOORS WILL BE LOCKED AT 7:30 AND ALL ENTRY AND EXIT MUST BE THROUGH THE MAIN ENTRY WAYS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY

  • Park in the "Dolan East Lot, Carroll Expansion Lot, or the Boler Lot - all labeled "6" on the map.
  • Once you park, you can walk through campus to the AWE Main Entrance
