Was a standout athlete at Van Buren (OH) High School where he won four varsity letters in football and three in baseball ... Was named to the Blanchard Valley Conference (BVC) First Team in 2011 for baseball, and also received BVC Honorable Mention honors for baseball in 2009 and 2010.
