Brian Davidson '19 enters his third season with the John Carroll University football program in the 2022-23 school year as an assistant coach, his second season leading the special teams. 

During the fall 2021 season, Davidson's special teams unit enjoyed plenty of success. Overall, JCU improved from eighth to first in overall special teams play. Grant Gonya garnered First Team All-OAC honors, highlighted by ranking first nationally in touchback percentage on kickoffs. John Carroll's punt return defense ranked 18th (3.33 yards per return) and the kick return defense allowed just 16.0 ypr, holding opponents to a starting field position of inside the 25 yardline for the season. The kick return team was strong, with an average starting field position of the 31-yard line. Devin Limerick's TD vs. Marietta was a highlight. And finally on punts, JCU blocked two punts and returned on for a touchdown, all while improving punt returns by 10.0 ypr.

Davidson spent two seasons with The Ohio State University. He served as a Special Teams Analyst for the 2019 and 2020 seasons. For the Buckeyes, Davidson was responsible for the special teams drawings, opponent & self-scout study, game plans, presentations & cutups, practice scripts, and the depth chart. In 2020, Ohio State finished #4 in the country in opponent's starting field position, #18 in special teams efficiency, and #21 in kick return defense. In 2019, OSU finished #8 in special teams efficiency, #10 in punt return defense, #19 in kick return, and #6 in blocked punts.

Davidson graduated from John Carroll in 2019 with a degree in Sports Studies in Business. A native of Columbus, he graduated from Bishop Watterson High School in 2015. 

Davidson is a legacy Blue Streak, as his father (John '88) and grandfather (Don '54) both graduated from John Carroll.
