Joe Dever enters his second season as a member of the John Carroll University football coaching staff. He will work with the linebackers as a defensive graduate assistant coach.
In 2018, Dever coached junior Chad Stalnaker to second team All-North Region and first team All-OAC. Stalnaker finished the season with 71 tackles and two interceptions.
This is Dever's first coaching assignment following a successful playing career at Mercyhurst University, where he was a key member of the Lakers football team. Dever earned PSAC All-Conference honors in both his junior and senior seasons as a linebacker. Also in 2015, he was named a DII All-American First Team and Academic All-District First Team award winner.
Prior to joining the staff at John Carroll, Dever worked as an analyst for Forest City Realty Trust in downtown Cleveland. He graduated from Mercyhurst University in May of 2016 with a Bachelor degree in Finance and a minor in Accounting.
Dever is currently working towards his Masters of Business Administration at John Carroll University’s Boler College of Business.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Dever is an alumnus of St. Edward High School.
