After spending 2012 as a defensive intern, Cook was promoted to special teams coordinator and linebackers coach for the 2013 season. He will continue in that role in 2014.

Cook's charges took the defense and special teams to a whole new level in 2013.

Kicker Kresimir Ivkovic earned All-America honors as was a finalist for the Fred Mitchell Award given to the best non-FBS kicker. Cook's special teams players seven kicks including six punts to rank 11th nationally in blocked kicks and sixth nationally in blocked punts.

Defensively, Cook tutored Matt Feeney who was named the OAC Gene Slaughter Most Outstanding Linebacker. Joining Feeney with first team All-OAC honors was Mitch Krotz.
 
In 2012, Cook primarily worked with the defensive line.  He helped guide Dan Valore to All-OAC honors.
 
Cook has had a wide range of experience in both collegiate and high school athletics.
 
In 2009, Cook served as the offensive quality control coach at the University of Toledo under the guidance of Matt Campbell.  In 2009, the Rockets' offense was ranked 16th in the country.
 
Before joining the Toledo program, Cook coached at North Canton Hoover High School and was part of conference championships and a state semifinal run.
 
A native of Canton, Cook graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and played college football at Walsh University under Jim Dennison from 2003-05.
 
Cook earned two degrees from Kent State University in Physical Education and Public Health.
