Started nine of ten games in 2006 for the Blue Streaks ... Despite battling injuries all season, finished with 31 tackles ... Recorded a season-high seven tackles against Wilmington (10/28/06) ... Also recorded 3.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks during his junior season ... Will begin his senior season with 104 career tackles -- second most on the team behind Carlo Melaragno’s 106 ... In receiving his second letter in 2005, was named most valuable defensive lineman on the JCU squad … In what was probably his biggest game in 2005, had a season high five solo tackles in an upset of then #7 ranked Ohio Northern ... Had a season-high nine tackles in the season ender against Baldwin-Wallace (11/12/05) ... In his first season with the Blue Streaks, tallied 30 of his 38 tackles over the final five games, including a career-high 13 against Baldwin-Wallace in the season finale (11/13/04) … In addition to his three football letters, has also earned a letter in wrestling for John Carroll, going 8-1 and earning a national ranking in the heavyweight division before injuries cut short his 2004-05 season ... A former football and wrestling star from nearby Mayfield High School who made his way to JCU two years ago after spending a year at Ashland University ... At Mayfield, was a three-time all-conference and two-time all-district football player ... Earned honorable mention all-state accolades as a senior … Three-time state placewinner in wrestling, finishing in the top four in each of his final three seasons … Was a high school wrestling All-American … Finance major at JCU, with an MBA degree among his postgraduate aspirations … Son of Jim and Faye Bendau.
