On the heels of a breakout 2009 year, enters his senior year as one of the top hawks in the defensive secondary  

2009
Finished ninth on the team with 36 tackles ... Led JCU and posted a career-best ten stops in the Blue Streaks' season opener against Thomas More (9/5/09) ... One of just nine Blue streaks to record at least one tackle in every game last year.

2008
Played in nine contests in the 2008 season ...  Had four tackles on the year... Tied for second on the team in fumble recoveries with two 

2007
Saw action in four of the final five games on special teams for the Blue Streaks during the 2007 season to earn his first letter. 

High School
Attended Aurora (IL) Marmion Academy, where he was a standout in three sports (football, basketball and baseball) ...  Played for same high school football coach as former JCU standout Carlos Melaragos- but at different schools in different states.  

Academics & Personal
Volunteered his services as a placekicker and was successful on nine tries during John Carroll's game against the Tourani Phoenix from the Belgain American Football League (BFL) when the Blue Streaks took part in an international tour to France in the summer of 2010 ... Environmental Science major at John Carroll ... Plans to attend grad school with hopes to eventaully become a Forest Firefighter ... Currently owns a 3.11 grade point average at JCU ... Son of Tim and Julia Cooper.
